Why We Print on Demand

Afro Wally uses a print-on-demand (POD) model, which means every item is printed after you place your order instead of being pulled from pre-made inventory.

We chose this approach for three core reasons:

1. Less waste, less overproduction

Traditional fashion brands often produce large quantities of inventory upfront, and a significant portion never sells. POD removes that guesswork by only producing what is actually ordered. This reduces unnecessary waste and aligns with a more responsible production model.

The fashion industry is also one of the most water resource intensive industries globally. It uses massive amounts of water in production, estimated at tens of billions of cubic meters annually, and is widely recognized as one of the largest contributors to global water consumption and environmental impact in manufacturing. This is one reason shifting to on demand production helps reduce overproduction related waste and resource strain.

2. More creative freedom

Instead of tying up money and space in unsold stock, we can focus on building new designs. This allows Afro Wally to grow a larger, more diverse collection over time without waiting on bulk production cycles.

3. Every piece is made for you

Your shirt isn’t sitting in a warehouse. It’s printed specifically for your order, meaning every item is freshly made before it reaches you.

What this means for returns

Because every product is custom printed after purchase, we do not accept returns or exchanges for:

  • Wrong size ordered
  • Change of mind
  • Accidental purchases

Unlike traditional retail, these items cannot be restocked or resold once they are made.

If your item arrives damaged, misprinted, or incorrect, we will replace it at no cost within 30 days of delivery.

We strongly recommend checking the size chart before ordering to ensure the best fit.
